Cocoa Brownies

175 gr. all purpose flour
220 gr. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 cup cocoa powder
110 gr. soft butter
2 eggs
a dash of vanilla
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Grease an 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan. Start oven 10 minutes before baking; set to moderate (180° C). Sift flour, then resift 3 times with next 3 ingredients, the last time into a large mixer bowl. Add butter, eggs and vanilla. Use wooden spoon and beat for three minutes by hand or two minutes on medium speed with a mixer. If you want, add chopped walnuts. Turn into prepared pan and spread out to even thickness. Bake 20 to 22 minutes or until barely done. Remove from oven, let cool and then sprinkle with confectioners sugar when cool.
