Jill’s Pears & Sopressa Vicentina

This is one of my favorite appetizers which I had for the first time in Vicenza many years ago. It’s so easy and quick and the savory and sweet flavors blend together exceptionally well!

Using a grill pan I cook 3 slices of sopressa Vicentina per person for about 2 minutes on each side.

Remove the slices and plate them.

In the same pan, I then grill sliced pears. In this photo I used Williams but other varieties work well too. A slice or two for each slice of sopressa Vicentina.

After cooking a couple of minutes in the pan, layer the sliced pears over the slices of sopressa Vicentina.

Drizzle with a touch of balsamic vinegar and serve immediately and enjoy!
